Dr. Arun Bhunia's Research highlighted in the October 2009 Issue of Food Technology
Dr. Arun Bhunia's research on biosensor development for detection of foodborne pathogens was highlighted in a recent article of Food Technology. Among many of the techniques that are being developed in Dr. Bhunia's lab, the "BARDOT" system that uses light scattering to produce bacterial colony "fingerprints" was emphasized. Dr. Bhunia was the recipient of the Institute of Food Technology (IFT) Research Award, presented this past summer at the annual IFT meeting. Much of the research outlined in the article was funded by the Center for Food Safety Engineering and USDA-ARS.
